In the introduction of Dworkin’s work, she announces, ![]() The first resource used to explore a woman’s representation in classic children’s fairy tales is Andrea Dworkin’s book, Woman Hating, in which she addresses the anti-feminist ideas portrayed within the use of women in fairy tales. Due to the publication of many Fairy Tales being in the 19 th century, such as those of the Brothers Grimm, the ideas portrayed, as well the characters in the fairy tales, underlines a patriarchal aspect which as a result, many believe suppresses women as well as schooling female children on their believed roles in society. ![]() ![]() Children’s literature and Fairy Tales in particular are created in order to captivate children’s imaginations while sometimes perusing a didactic quality in the hope of creating a moral lesson which is included to be taken into consideration. ![]()
